I published a book about finding the meaning of life on my birthday in 2021. It's free for the next five days (Kindle, paperback, and audiobook). You can get it here: https://lnkd.in/gaTiWTNP
Here are the five meanings I found:
You are the universe.
We are not separate from the universe, but an integral part of it. We are made of the same matter and energy that originated from the Big Bang. In a sense, we are the universe that has evolved to be able to perceive and understand itself.Do what you are made to do.
As humans, we have unique abilities that define our purpose - to observe, understand, decide, and create. By fully developing and utilizing these capacities, we fulfill our role as agents of the universe.Deciding is your superpower.
Free will and the power to make choices set humans apart from other thinking things (computers and animals). We are able to consciously direct our own evolution and that of the universe. Exercising this ability is key to our purpose.Become the best you.
Finding meaning involves developing your own unique talents and perspective to the fullest. Engage in continual self-improvement and growth to become the best possible version of yourself.Share your gifts.
Meaning is found not just in self-development, but in using your abilities to benefit others and contribute to human society. Sharing your talents and creations with the world is essential for a fulfilling life.
Together, these Five Meanings weave together a cohesive perspective on our role as conscious agents within the universe. It’s a guidebook for how we can find purpose and meaning through fully developing and contributing our unique abilities.
Since writing it, I have grown quite a bit, and parts of the book seem superficially simple. But I think that's why it's still valuable. If I hadn't had those thoughts and written them down, I may not have been able to move deeper in my thinking.
I hope you'll give it a read and let me know what you think.
